Village seeking donations for decorations

The village of White Pigeon is seeking donations to help with the purchase of new Christmas decorations in 2014. The fundraising effort is being spearheaded by village council Trustee Shireen Cline. Three people, including a Three Rivers resident, were arrested on drug-related charges following a traffic stop last week in Park Township. Meth lab explosion

An unidentified man was seriously injured Monday evening in an apparent meth lab explosion in Sturgis. Police were called to the 200 block of North Centreville Road where they found a 53-year-old man with second and third degree burns. He was airlifted to Bronson Methodist Hospital for treatment.

School delays at Centreville

Centreville Public Schools has scheduled six dates during which the start of school will be delayed. The two-hour delays will be Dec. 2, Jan. 13, Feb. 3, March 3, March 31, and May 5. The district’s faculty will be involved in professional-development training on those dates.

Winter hours

The St. Joseph County Road Commission has announced it is returning to its winter hours starting next week. According to Julie Mayuiers, director of administration, the Centreville-based agency will be open for administrative purposes 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Its summer hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
