Golf cart stolen

State police were called to a residence in White Pigeon Township last week in response to the theft of a golf cart. According to an agency media release, the EZ-GO cart was stolen between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning last week from the 71000 block of Lakeview Avenue. The cart has a canopy, front windshield, and headlights and taillights.

Two injured in crash

Two people were injured in a traffic accident in Cass County’s Mason Township Monday evening. Tornado in Grand Rapids

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has confirmed that a tornado touched down shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday. The NWS says it confirmed that it was on the ground for approximately 10 minutes. Meteorologist Brandon Hoving says wind speeds were clocked at well over 80 miles per hour and potentially exceeded 100 mph during the storm event. Hoving says …

Angola man dies in skydiving accident

Authorities in southern Michigan have identified a man who died in a skydiving accident as a 76-year-old from Indiana. Marshall police say in a news release that the accident happened about 11 a.m. Sunday near Brooks Field in Marshall. The site is about 15 miles east-southeast of Battle Creek. The Three Rivers Area Community Foundation has announced the deadline for grant applications is July 18. Eligible applicants include schools, government entities, and other 501(c)3 organizations within the City of Three Rivers and surrounding townships. State police report that a missing man has been found.  Police had issued an alert when 81-year-old Paul Fifer of White Pigeon had not returned home.  He was found in Lawrence in good condition.

Sheriff investigating a larceny

Deputies from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday investigated a larceny complaint in the 71000 block of Bauman Road in Fawn River Township. Several pieces of scrap metal, including two large steel wagon wheels, were stolen. The incident occurred between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
