Northern Illinois Trips Up Broncos, 31-21

On the snowy turf of Waldo Stadium, Northern Illinois cooled off a hot Broncos squad with a second half comeback on Friday, Nov. 28, that included six WMU turnovers. The Huskies strong second half offense topped the Broncos, 31-21, which would have given Western an appearance in the MAC championship.

Two Mendon players named to All State Football team

Mendon’s Logan Slaughter and Elijah Klepper were named to the Associated Press’ Division 7-8 All-State Football Team. For Slaughter it was his third appearance on the prestigious team. He was a four-year starter for the Hornets, who went 10-2 in the 2014 season. Klepper, a senior and team captain, rushed for 1,702 yards on 190 carries this season. He averaged …

Mendon Downs Colon, 49-8, in 1st Round of Gridiron Playoffs

  Colon was no match for Mendon’s powerful offense and stingy defense at Saturday’s opening round of the state playoffs. The Hornets dominated the Magi, 49-8, from start to finish. Mendon,9-1, now will host Climax-Scotts, also 9-1, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov.  8, at John Schwartz Field in Mendon.
