Centreville comes up short in championship game

Centreville High School’s baseball team came up one win short of a state championship, as the Bulldogs were beaten Saturday in the state’s Division 4 title game, 10-to-8 by Muskegon Catholic Central. Frisbie named Coach of the Year

Constantine boys’ basketball coach Chuck Frisbie was named Associated Press Class C coach of the year. In his first season as the team’s coach, Frisbie turned around a program that went 1-19 a year ago to 21-3 this season. The Falcons won the KVA league title and had a deep run in the postseason. The Michigan High School Athletic Association will begin a pilot program this fall using a new test to check for concussions in athletes. Executive Director Jack Roberts told WOOD-TV that anyone suspected of “getting their bell rung” will be asked to look at cards, or an iPad and read some numbers.
