Man killed when Amtrak train hits pickup truck in Lawton

Police say one man was killed when an Amtrak train crashed into a pickup truck west of Kalamazoo. WOOD-TV reports the crash occurred Tuesday night in Lawton. Police Chief Jeffrey Mack says emergency responders found the man outside the pickup when they arrived on the scene. He was later pronounced dead at a hospital. Three Rivers Community Schools Board of Education has given Superintendent Jean Logan an evaluation that equates to a rating of “minimally effective.” District officials said the evaluation was conducted Nov. 29 during a closed session involving board members and the 52-year-old Logan.
