Sturgis Hospital receives ultrasound accreditation

Sturgis Hospital has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in ultrasound, as the result of an extensive review by the American College of Radiology. The Sturgis Housing Development Corporation has followed through on its decision to sell a South Nottawa Street property that may result in its demolition, despite neighborhood objections. Arrests made with help from Sturgis K-9

Sturgis police officers in the past week have benefitted twice from the department’s K-9 officer, Tuckey. According to a department media release, Tuckey was brought to a traffic stop at 7 p.m. July 19 at St. Joseph and Clay streets. Officers were suspicious of two male suspects and Tuckey’s search alerted officers to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. …

Covered Bridge sign destroyed

A sign proclaiming the identity of St. Joseph County’s most notable icon was destroyed following a pair of incidents the past two weeks.
