Cora Lambert, 88

Cora May Lambert, age 88, of Constantine, passed away Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 at the Riverview Manor Nursing Home in Three Rivers. Cora May was born in Constantine on January 15, 1922, a daughter of Roy and Florence (Raifsnider) Preston. She graduated from Constantine High School in 1939. On October 19, 1940 she married Clarence Edward Lambert in Constantine. He preceded her in death June 14, 1973. Cora May worked as a teachers aid at Constantine Schools from 1973 to 1991, working mainly at the middle school and Riverside elementary. She was an active member of the Pythian Sisters and Messiah Lutheran Church in Constantine. Cora May also enjoyed going to craft shows and participating in many Constantine School activities.

Surviving are her daughter Mary (Larry) Shingledecker of Constantine, son James (Beth) Lambert of Austin, TX, sisters Joan Rider of Sturgis, and Betty Sue VanZandt of Clearwater, FL, brothers Mark Preston of Constantine, sisters in law Alverta Preston, Constantine and Gladys Tracy, Three Rivers, grandchildren Roxane Barnes, White Pigeon, Rick Shingledecker, White Pigeon, Randy Shingledecker, Breckenridge, MI, Jim Lambert and Brenda Lambert of White Pigeon, several grt. grandchildren and 2 grt. grt grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Rhonda Lambert Sweitzer, sisters Mary Large, Margaret Trowbridge and Katherine Leister and brothers Roy and James Preston.

Relatives and friends will be received Sunday from 3 – 6 pm at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious Services will be held at 11 am Monday at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Constantine with Reverend Dennis Smith officiating. Interment will be at Constantine Cemetery.
