Dorothy Ellen Stagowski, 77, of Sturgis, passed away Thursday, December 9th, 2010 at her home. She was born in Chicago, IL on July 6, 1933, a daughter of Welesly and Mary (Connolley) Whittleton. On December 7, 1957 she married Walter Stagowski in Chicago, IL , he preceded her in death on January 10, 2000. Dorothy had worked at Holy Cross Hospital in Chicago, IL as a licensed practical nurse before coming to Michigan. She was a resident of Lake Templene for 12 years, and attended St. Clare Catholic Church in Centreville.
Surviving Dorothy are her daughter Peggie Krueger, sons David Stagowski, Michael Stagg, Richard (Deloris) Stagowski, sister Jane (Ray) Schultz and brother Karl (Rita) Whittleton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Joan Whittleton, brother Tom Whittleton and grandson Cody Lee Krueger.
A Mass of Christian Burial and her interment will take place in Burbank, IL next week, with arrangements by the Sheehy Funeral Home.. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Clare Building Fund C/O Immaculate Conception Church, 645 S. Douglas Ave. Three RIvers, MI 49093.
