Ronald McLaughlin, 56

Ronald Joseph McLaughlin, 56, of White Pigeon, died unexpectedly at 10:23 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at Three Rivers Health.

He was born June 6, 1954, in Mount Clemens, a son of Benjamin Frank and Eleanor Clara (Holtzman) McLaughlin. He had been a resident of the White Pigeon and Constantine area for 23 years, coming from Mio, Texas; and the Detroit area.

He was employed for 31 years as a lumber inspector for Timber Products of Conyers, Ga. He had been a cook in the family restaurant in his early life.

He was a member of the White Pigeon Bowling Association and past member of the Loyal Order of Moose. He enjoyed cooking, bowling, golf and John Deere tractors.

Surviving are his fiancee, Deb Hobbs of White Pigeon; two sons, Torey J. (Kristina) McLaughlin and Brandon J. (Mollie) McLaughlin of Constantine; a daughter, Carrie C. Richards of Constantine; 11 grandchildren; three sisters, Nancy and Lisa McLaughlin of the Detroit area, and Joyce McLaughlin of Mio; six brothers, Dennis, Kenneth (Nancy), and Michael, all of West Branch, David of Detroit, Kevin (Karen) of Mio and Jerry of Alaska; his mother, Eleanor McLaughlin of Mio; stepchildren Angela Hobbs of Edwardsburg and Kevin (Kelly) Hobbs of Three Rivers; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; a daughter, Camilla; and a sister, Leah.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
