Jack Baldwin, 76

Jack L. Baldwin, age 76, of Sturgis, passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at Sturgis Hospital.

He was born June 7, 1935, in Sturgis, a twin son of the late Charles E. and Fannie I. (Hudson) Baldwin.

Jack had been a resident of Sturgis all his life, and had been employed by the Wood Inn and for many years at Corner Cafe in Sturgis.

He had been a member of the Sturgis Salvation Army Church, where he was the oldest and longest soldier and was very active in their bell-ringing campaigns every year.

Surviving are his twin brother, Jean (Violet) Baldwin of Sturgis; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, William, John and Richard Baldwin; and a sister: Bessie Baird.

Interment and a graveside service celebrating Jack L. Baldwin’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis, with DeWayne Duskin of Sturgis Salvation Army officiating.

The family suggest memorial donations in his memory be directed to the Sturgis Salvation Army, 105 N. Fourth St., Sturgis, MI 49091.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis.
