Ardith Stoner, age 95, of Jones, died November 15, 2011 at the East Lake Nursing Home, Elkhart, IN. Ardith was born in Wickliffe, KY on July 21, 1916, the daughter of George W. and Mary E. (Johnston) Warren. She attended school in Ullin, IL. On July 4, 1931 she married William Chester Lillie. On March 28, 1987, Ardith married Robert E. Stoner in Florida. He preceded her in death May 31, 2005.
Ardith was a member of Porter Baptist Church, Constantine, and enjoyed quilting, cooking & baking. Ardith also loved reading and watching western TV shows.
Surviving are her grandson Kenny (Cathy) O’Connor, Edwardsburg, great grandchildren Lindsey O’Connor and Jaclyn O’Connor, nephew Roger (Jan) Stoner, Jones, niece Sandy (Leard) Wylie, Jones, several gt. nieces and nephews, step daughters Barbara Hanson-Adcock, Elkhart, Marilyn (Ed) Williams, Ft. Wayne, Judy (Gary) Korenstra, Punta Gorda, FL, Janet (James) Rutten, Edwardsburg, and Nancy (Jerry) Hoffman, Ann Arbor. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, daughter Virginia O’Connor and son in law Kenneth O’Connor.
Relatives and friends will be received Friday from 4-6 pm at the Porter Baptist Church in Constantine, where services will follow at 6 PM. Pastor Randy Peterson will officiate. Private entombment will be at the St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, IN. Memorial contributions may be directed to Porter Baptist Church youth group mission trip.
