Heather Muffley, 37

Heather Renee Muffley, 37, of Portage and formerly Three Rivers, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the Borgess Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born in Grand Rapids on Aug. 23, 1974 the daughter of Michael J. Cartier and Melodee A. Reames.

Heather was a vibrant, well-liked young lady who was very active. On May 23, 1998 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Chad Muffley. Out of this union was born their daughter Emma Ann Muffley, whom Heather loved and cherished dearly. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Heather was a 1992 graduate of Three Rivers High School. Heather worked as retail manager for many years at Casual Corner and Express, and later transferred to Roadway. Later on, she worked in real estate for Jaqua Real Estate. She and Chad were members of the Southridge Christian Reformed Church in Portage.

Heather was preceded in death by her father Michael, her grandparents, Bud Reames, Virgil Muffley and June Peterson, along with her nephew, David Reames.

She leaves to forever cherish her memory her husband and daughter, Chad and Emma Muffley; her mother, Melodee (Thomas) Armstrong; three brothers, Todd, Rex and Charlie Larkin; step-brothers, Doug (Laura) and Neil Armstrong; step-sister, Beth Evans; two uncles, Dennis (Gail) Reames and Jeff (Carla) Reames; father- and mother-in-law, Leroy and Meliana Muffley; brothers-in-law, Michael and Scott Muffley, sister-in-law, Angela Muffley-Smith; many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins , and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, April 29 at the Southridge Christian Reformed Church, 6726 Texas Dr., Kalamazoo, MI 49009.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, April 30 also at Southridge Christian Reformed Church, with Pastor Mark Vanderson officiating.

Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Three Rivers.

Memorials may be directed to Riverview Manor of Three Rivers where there will be a room refurnished in Heather’s name. Online condolences may be shared at www.hohnerfh.com. Arrangements handled by Hohner Funeral Home and Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home.
