Fronie Halfacre-Stanfill, 67

Fronie Marie (Underwood) Halfacre-Stanfill of Jackson passed away peacefully at her home on May 23, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 67. Fronie was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She was born in Three Rivers on Oct. 16, 1944 to Keith and Willie Mae (Spann) Underwood. Fronie graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1962, and then attended Grand Rapids Junior College earning her associates degree. Fronie moved to Jackson in 1967. She worked for Consumers Power Company until 1979 when she and her family moved to Bangladesh. In the early 80’s Fronie began her successful real estate career. She won numerous awards for being in the top one percent of sales people in the nation. She loved to play golf and was a member of the Twilight golf league, playing bridge and spending time with her grandchildren. She belonged to the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Fronie also participated in Avon’s Breast Cancer 60 mile walks.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents and husband James Halfacre. She is survived by husband, Acie; son, Keith Owens and daughter-in-law Karen; step son, Darin; sister, Alice Kielau; nieces, Julie Wood, Jennifer Kufeldt; grandchildren, John, James and Cecelia. Also surviving are special friends, Kent and Traci Melville and their daughters, Courtney, Elisa and Grace. Visitation will be Saturday, May 26 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Wetherby Funeral Home. The service will be Sunday, May 27 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Wesleyan Church with the Reverend Vaughn Jensen officiating. There will also be visitation at the church on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, Cascades Humane Society or Lumen Christi High School.
