Man arrested after crash

Schoolcraft Police Chief Bryan Campbell issued a media release Thursday, detailing an incident involving a motorcyclist involved in a crash after traveling in excess of 100 miles an hour.

Campbell said a 47-year-old Vicksburg man was taken to the Kalamazoo County Jail following Wednesday night’s pursuit involving area police agencies.

The driver was stopped after 11 p.m. for erratic driving. During the stop, the driver sped off southbound on U.S. 131 through the village.

Police said the man attempted to cross the median near XY Avenue when he lost control of his motorcycle. Campbell said the suspect resisted arrest and was stunned twice with a Taser gun.

Pending a review by the prosecutor’s office, the driver of the motorcycle is expected to be charged with felony drunken driving, felony fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest and attempting to disarm an officer.

The man’s name was not stated in the release.
