Progress is being made on the long-awaited U.S. 131 bypass around the village of Constantine.
Village Pres ident Pat Weiss last week told village council members she attended a Dec. 11 meeting that included about three dozen rep resentatives from the Michigan Department of Transporta tion and a team of representatives from the Environmen tal Protection Agency.
Weiss said MDOT confirmed it has acquired all the property it needs for the bypass and work on the project is expected to start in early 2013.
A team of MDOT officials is scheduled to attend the council’s Jan. 21 meeting to provide an update and take questions.
