Sheriff investigating break-ins

Entry through a garage door led to the theft of jewelry and two handguns earlier this week in Fabius Township.

The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department was called to the 15700 block of Oakshore Drive in response to an incident that occurred between 6:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. Monday.

In a separate incident, deputies were called Monday to the 59900 block of Knevels Court in Fabius Township, where a flat-screen television and a gaming system were stolen.

Access to the residence in that incident was also through a garage.

The break-in occurred between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
