Nominations being accepted

Nominations are being accepted for the 2013-14 John E. Oster Award for outstanding teaching and community service by a Sturgis Public Schools teacher.

Now in its 33rd year, the award is in honor of the late John E. Oster, a Sturgis attorney who placed high value on education and community service.

Sturgis school district residents who wish to nominate a teacher for consideration by the award committee may do so by submitting a nomination letter to Superintendent Tom Langdon at Sturgis Central Commons, 107W. West St.

In addition to recognizing outstanding teaching, community service is a highly important component considered in the application process.

A nomination form is available from the superintendent’s office or at www.sturgisps.org.

Deadline for nominations is Dec. 2.
