Two Glen Oaks professors receive tenure

Two faculty members at Glen Oaks Community College are starting the fall semester with tenure.

Lori Hatfield has been promoted to professor of English and Michelle McNamara has been promoted to professor of communications. Both were recommended and approved to receive tenure at recent meeting of the Glen Oaks Board of Trustees.

Hatfield joined the faculty at Glen Oaks in 2010. She is the advisor to the music club at Glen Oaks, and is credited with starting up an accelerated-learning program at the Centreville-area school.

McNamara has a long association with Glen Oaks, starting as a student after graduating from Centreville High School.

In 2012, after working at Glen Oaks for nearly 20 years, she joined the faculty on a full-time basis.
