Mendon continues in football playoffs

History repeated itself for the fourth consecutive year in Mendon Saturday, as the Hornets topped Climax-Scotts in Division 8 football District action.

The 10-and-1 Hornets will try to snap a two-game losing streak to perennial power Muskegon Catholic Central Saturday in Muskegon. The 11-and-0 Crusaders are coming off a 42-0 thrashing of Fowler this past weekend and are the strongest team in Division 8, according to Michigan High School Athletic Association’s rating system.
MCC has beaten Mendon in consecutive playoff contests, dating to last year and in 2012.
In other area action over the weekend, Schoolcraft fell in Division 6 play, 28-21, at Watervliet. The Eagles end their season with a 7-4 mark.
