Midwest Propane to host family movie night

Midwest Propane invites the community to a family movie night this Thursday, Aug. 27. The feature film is the Disney/Pixar family favorite UP, and the event will be held under the stars on the lawn of the Cass County Council on Aging, 60525 Decatur Road, Cassopolis. The venue opens at 6 p.m. and the movie begins at 7.

The event is part of Midwest Propane’s annual Fueling the Fight campaign to raise money for cancer care and services. There is no charge for the movie, but cash donations are encouraged. The event will also feature the giant 8-story Touchstone Energy Hot Air balloon, and tethered rides will be available for $10 per person for a limited time beginning at 6 p.m. (weather permitting). Raffle tickets will be sold for chances to win a variety of themed gift baskets and other prizes, and Smokin’ Good BBQ will fire up the grills and have a variety of food items for purchase. All proceeds from the Family Movie Night, plus one penny per gallon of gas delivered in August, will be donated to the West Michigan Cancer Center. Midwest Propane has donated more than $35,000 to support regional cancer services since launching this campaign in 2013.

Tethered balloon rides will also be available on Thursday morning from 7-9 a.m. for $10 per person.
