K-Wings winless in four games to start the season

The Kalamazoo Wings are winless in their first four games of the season. After dropping a 5-2 decision to the Toledo Walleye at home on Friday night, the K-Wings found themselves on the short end of a 4-1 loss to the Cincinnati Cyclones on Saturday night.

On Friday, the K-Wings received goals from Tyler Shattock and Alex Mallet. The Walleye outshot the K-Wings 40-20. The K-Wings came up empty on three power play chances while the Walleye scored one in four opportunities.

On Saturday, Justin Kovacs provided the K-Wings lone goal in the second period. The Cyclones had 34 shots on net while the K-Wings had 20. The K-Wings went 0-for-6 on the power play while the Cyclones connected for two on their three chances.

The K-Wings return home this Friday night as they battle the Cyclones for the annual Halloween Orange Ice Game sponsored by Meijer. There will be trick or treating on the concourse for the kids, a candy dash on the ice with a chance to win a trip to the dentist and a costume contest for both children and adults. Game time is 7:30 pm.
