10-mile procession planned for 2 Kalamazoo shooting victims

A 10-mile funeral procession is planned for two of the six people slain in a weekend shooting rampage in southwestern Michigan.

MLive.com reports that mourners will travel Saturday morning from Mattawan High School to Calvary Bible Church in Kalamazoo where services will be held for 53-year-old Richard Smith and his 17-year-old son, Tyler.

The newspaper reports that the procession will be led by Richard Smith’s motorcycle group.

Tyler Smith was a senior at Mattawan High School. He and his father were ambushed in a Kalamazoo auto dealership lot while looking at vehicles after-hours.

In all, eight people were shot Feb. 20 at three different locations. Four women were killed. Another woman and a 14-year-old girl were wounded.

Forty-five-year-old Jason Dalton is charged with murder and attempted murder.  (AP)
