Driver facing charges after 1 dead in western Michigan crash

Charges are being filed after one person was killed and two others injured after the vehicle they were in was struck by a suspected drunken driver in western Michigan.

The Allegan County sheriff’s office says the vehicle rolled over in a dense tree line early Saturday morning in Wayland Township, south of Grand Rapids, and 36-year-old Jemimah Palsce of Albuquerque, New Mexico, died.

The vehicle that hit them rolled over into a ditch. The driver of that vehicle was held in the county jail and is due in court Monday.

The sheriff’s office says police had been pursuing that vehicle and they say it had been speeding.

The sheriff’s department says a woman in the vehicle that was hit was in critical condition and her husband was in serious condition.  (AP)
