New fund benefits at risk kids

In honor of Dan and Beulah Fryling, their family has established a fund to help at-risk kids in the Mendon Community Schools district.
Mendon teachers can apply for grants to fund programs for students who have difficulty learning. The fund will be administered through the Mendon Schools Foundation.
The Frylings, who met while students at Mendon High School, were fixtures of the Mendon community for more than 50 years. They were married for nearly 35 years until Beulah’s passing in 1996; Dan passed away in October 2014.
Dan would go on to become a builder, while Beulah was honored by Three Rivers Community Schools for her work with adult education when she retired after nearly 20 years of service.
