5 people hurt after 4 motorcycle chain-reaction crash

Five people have been injured after four motorcycles crashed near Bristol in Elkhart County.
The Elkhart Truth reports that the chain-reaction crash started about 6:40 p.m. Saturday on S.R. 120 near Bonneyville Mill County Park.
Authorities say an eastbound motorcycle traveled left of the roadway’s center line while trying to pass another eastbound vehicle and crashed head-on into a westbound motorcycle.
Two other riders traveling west on the road could not stop in time to avoid the crash and forced their motorcycles to the pavement to avoid another collision.
Both motorcycle operators and a passenger in the initial crash were airlifted to a South Bend hospital.
The other two motorcycle operators suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene of the crash.  (AP)
