No injuries in Cass County boat crash

A motor boat crashed into a boat in which two Illinois men were fishing over the weekend in Cass County’s Diamond Lake.
Sheriff Richard Behnke said deputies were called at 3:30 p.m. Sunday to the Cassopolis lake. They said 17-year-old Nicholas Peluchiwski of Chicago was driving a boat that was pulling a wake boarder.
Deputies said he failed to observe a fishing boat in his path. Two subjects in the fishing boat, a 61-year-old man and his son, both from Flossmoor, Ill., jumped from the boat into the water prior to the collision.
None of the subjects required medical treatment.
Deputies said alcohol was not a factor in the crash and personal floatation devices were used appropriately on both boats.
