DASAS receives donation

St. Joseph County Domestic And Sexual Abuse Services recently received a $4,100 donation thanks to the “100+ Women Who Care” event earlier this month at Sturges-Young Auditorium.

Seven charities were entered into a drawing and representatives from the three drawn randomly were given five minutes to present their organization.

The charities were Children’s Trauma Assessment Group of St. Joseph County, Silliman House Museum of Three Rivers and DASAS.

DASAS was given the $4,100 based on the oral presentation by its representative, Rose Ludwick. Audience members had agreed to contribute $100 per person and award the money.

Seven agencies in all vied for the funding.

Ludwick said the shelter in the past year housed 190 women and provided services for 400 nonresident women.
