Two arrested on drug charges in Sturgis

Two Sturgis residents were arrested on drug-related offenses last week.

According to the Sturgis Police Department, officers came into contact with a 32-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman at 12:06 a.m. Friday in the 200 block of East West Street.

The woman had an outstanding warrant and as she was being arrested, officers noticed a small bag of methamphetamine on the ground near the man.

He fled the scene on foot but was quickly apprehended. He was found to be in possession of an additional bag of meth, authorities said. He was charged with resisting and obstructing, possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.
