Mary Burmeister, 88

Mary Kathleen (Parrish) Burmeister, age 88, of Colon, passed on June 30, 2018.
She was born Aug. 25, 1929, in Beebe, Ark., the oldest daughter of Edgar and Myrtle (Low) Herrin.
Mary was a beloved wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a loyal and devoted friend. Mary was a long-term member of Colon Baptist Church and resident of Mystic Grove Senior complex in Colon. She will be remembered for her generous loving spirit, her openness and her love of family. Mary also loved traveling, reading, Westerns, country music and ice cream. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her brother, Gary (Pat) McDaniel of Paragould, Ark.; children Debra (Tim) Carleton, Priscilla (Mike) Shimp and Barry Parrish; a daughter-in-law, Joann Archer; grandchildren Jeff (Sarah) Parrish, Katy Boothe, Lacey Terwedo, Jason Parrish, Angela Parrish, Elizabeth Chadwick, David Parrish, Lucas Terwedo and Jenna Fyffe; 10 great-grandchildren; and best friends Suzanne Robinson and Rose Hughes.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of many years, Alfred Burmeister; sons Dennis, Donnie and Danny Parrish; three sisters; and a brother.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Colon Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m., with the Rev. David J. Farrell officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall.
If desired, the family suggests memorials be made in memory of Mary to Colon Baptist Church.
