Pat Beezley, 90

Patricia Helen Beezley, age 90, of Three Rivers, formerly of Coloma, MI., passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 15, 2018 surrounded by her family.  She was born January 19th, 1928 in Waterloo, Iowa the daughter of the late Loren and Maude (Knoop) Berry.

Pat was active in her early 20’s in the Long Beach CA., Community Players as assistant director  in charge of props, sound effects and lighting.  She was a Cub Scout Den Mother.  In 1969 Pat became the City Clerk for Coloma.  She was active in the United Methodist Church and taught 4th grade Sunday School and was Secretary of the administrative board and finance.  She eventually retired as Coloma Township Accountant and Office Manager in 1992.  In 1991 she became Mayor of Coloma and held that position for four years until her husband the late Bud Beezley became ill and eventually preceded her in death in 2008.

At that time Pat moved to Three Rivers to live with her daughter and started attending the Church of the Nazarene. For the time prior to her death she has undertaken a personal mission of making hats and scarves for the people of the soup kitchen as well as for the women’s abuse shelter and a nursing home. She was constantly crocheting and sewing for her friends and people in need.

Mrs. Beezley leaves to cherish her loving memory, four children, Nancy Johnson, CharleneTorres, Curt Johnson, and Larry (Marge) Johnson.   Two sisters, Kathryn Berry and Anita Root.  Four step-children, Bob Beezley, Don (Brenda) Beezley, Suzanne Marshall, and Roger Beezley; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren as well as four step-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18th, 2018 at the Coloma Cemetery with Pastor Brian Hall officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to Three Rivers Church of the Nazarene for the Building Fund.
