Ernest “Ernie” Frank Mowery, age 76, of Three Rivers, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at his home. He was born in Three Rivers on July 12, 1942 the son of William F. and Fern P. (Lovejoy) Mowery.
Upon graduation from high school Ernie served his country in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force for twenty four years until his honorable discharge. He then began work as a contractor for home construction for over twenty years. He was affectionately known as “Grandpa” to many friends and the extended Amish community.
Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Joan Mowery in 2002, and sister, Nancy Cunningham.
Surviving to cherish his memory are daughter, Jodi McClure; son, William (Tessy) Mowery; significant other, Edna McClarty; grandchildren, Melanie, William, Mandy, Joshua, Nathan, James, Allison, and Emma; great grandchildren, Madison and Natalie; lifelong friends Leroy (Miriam) Hostetler and their family.
In accordance with Ernie’s wishes cremation will be conducted and private services will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations in memory on Ernie may be directed to The American Heart Association. Envelopes are available at Hohner Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
