She was born July, 29, 1940, in Sturgis, a daughter of LeRoy and Juanita (Wesphall) King.
She was a graduate of Sturgis High School. After high school, she attended Adrian College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in teaching. She worked as a substitute teacher for many years and later worked at the Sturgis library.
Areletta enjoyed drawing, sewing and was an avid reader. Throughout the years, she attended many Bible studies and was a parishioner of First United Methodist Church in Sturgis. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Paula Hills of Sturgis and Beth (Richie) Fletcher; granddaughters Chelsea and Kirsten Hills, and Morgan, Alexia and Annabelle Fletcher; two nieces; and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Ronald King.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Private burial of the ashes will occur at a later date. Arrangements are by Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon.
