April Lynn Blackman-Musselman, 35

April Lynn Blackman-Musselman, age 35, of Colon Township, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
A celebration of April’s life will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, just prior to the service at Lighthouse. Interment will be at Sherwood Township Cemetery.
April was born on January 5, 1984 in Coldwater, to Nolan and Elizabeth (Young) Blackman. She grew up in the Sherwood and Colon area, attending school at Leonidas, Colon and Pansophia Academy in Coldwater. Over the years she lived in multiple places, but had been back in the Colon area for the past couple of years.
In her lifetime, April did many different things, but was always good at whatever she tried, especially maintenance work. She was handy and had a strong work ethic. She especially liked outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing and riding on motorcycles. Horses and pitbulls held a special place in her heart. April loved music and playing guitar. She was blessed with a beautiful singing voice and used it for karaoke whenever she could. She loved her family and had a big heart. Her door was always open to those in need; her helpfulness and generosity will be fondly remembered.
April is survived by her fiancé, Josh Denney of Colon; her children, Shannon M. Blackman of Battle Creek, Kyler Britton of Three Rivers, Paul Noding Bem-zed Biron and Adam Na Ojibik Biron of Sault St. Marie; her grandson, Elijah Lavern Millward-Blackman; her father, Nolan L. Blackman of Colon; her siblings, Shaun Blackman of Burlington and Amanda Lily of Colon; her grandmother, Patricia Lavern Young of Factoryville; her niece and nephew, Makalya Lily and Dylan Lily of Colon; her aunt and uncle, Katherine Young and Thomas Young; many cousins, including Eric Young and Travis Young; and her former spouses, Paul Biron and Nate Smith.
She was preceded in death by her mother; a sister, Shannon R. Blackman (1996); a grandmother, Amber Blackman-Taylor; and her grandfathers, Edward Blackman and C.T. Young.
