Arrest made in fatal crash case

Allan J. Mann, 31, was arrested last Tuesday in Centreville, in connection with a fatal crash last year.

According to an affidavit of probable cause obtained from the St. Joseph County prosecutor’s office, Mann was charged with driving while intoxicated causing serious injury and two counts operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated causing death.

The incident occurred in July 2018, on U.S. 131, south of Indian Prairie Road in Mottville Township.

According to authorities, Mann was driving a pickup truck that rolled. Two passengers, Richard Spicher, 32 of Middlebury, and Brittany Wolcott, 30, of Shipshewana, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Another passenger, Heather Mann, suffered serious injuries.

Authorities said Allan Mann’s blood-alcohol level was more than .10 percent at the time of the crash.

Mann has been released on a $ 15,000 personal recognizance bond.
