Man arrested on multiple charges following traffic stop

An Indiana man was arrested over the weekend on drug-related offenses and for driving a stolen vehicle, following a traffic stop in Three Rivers.

Three Rivers officers were summoned Saturday to U.S. 131 near M-60, where the vehicle was stopped for a number of equipment violations. Officers detected that the driver, a 35-year-old Mishawaka man, was under the influence of narcotics.

K-9 Jake was brought to the scene and reacted positively to the presence of narcotics. Officers found half an ounce of crystal methamphetamine, scales and packaging materials. They also found two loaded handguns.

The pickup was found to be stolen from Warsaw, Ind., officers said.

The driver was charged with numerous drug-related crimes, weapons-related offenses, and receiving and concealing a stolen vehicle, according to a department media release.
