No major injuries in Cass County crash

Nobody was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash that occurred last month in Cass County’s Calvin Township.

Sheriff Richard Behnke said deputies were called at 11:05 a.m. June 20 to the intersection of Calvin Hill Street and Calvin Center Road.

Emergency personnel were told the driver of a car heading west on Calvin Hill Street failed to stop at the intersection.

The car, driven by 25-year-old Corey Grimmer of South Bend, entered the intersection and struck a northbound pickup driven by Jimmy Crosslin, 66, of Vandalia.

The Crosslin vehicle was forced into the path of a southbound vehicle driven by Karen Lee Hardisty, 60, of Vandalia.

All three drivers were checked by medics and released at the scene.

Airbags and seatbelts were used by the drivers, and, Behnke added, alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the crash.
