Constantine superintendent wins pie-eating contest

Saturday marked the sixth annual pie-eating contest at the St. Joseph County Grange Fair.

It was open to a representative from each of the county’s nine public school districts, Glen Oaks Community College and the St. Joseph County Intermediate School District.

As he did in the inaugural event in 2014, Constantine Public Schools Superintendent Steve Wilson was the winner downing his chocolate cream pie the fastest.

Also competing were Centreville’s Chad Brady, Faith Hopper from Nottawa School, Pete Olson from Three Rivers, Megan Colpetsir from Colon, Burr Oak School’s Jack Klopenstein, Adam Cook from White Pigeon, Sang Park representing Sturgis and Teresa Belote from the ISD.

Neither Mendon nor Glen Oaks sent a representative.

With his win Saturday, Wilson joins Three Rivers’ Andy Mains as the event’s only two-time winner.
