Woman injured in Cass County crash

A Dowagiac woman was injured after the vehicle she was driving was struck by another car last week in Cass County’s LaGrange Township.

Sheriff Richard Behnke said deputies were called Friday to the intersection of Dutch Settlement and O’Keefe roads in response to a personal-injury crash.

Investigators found that 80-year-old Decatur resident Richard Buss was driving north on O’Keefe Road when he failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle driven by 19-year-old Dowagiac resident Elizabeth Kistner.

She was transported to Borgess Lee Hospital in Dowagiac for treatment. A department media release did not indicate whether Buss was injured.

Seat belts were worn and alcohol does not appear to be a factor, according to authorities.
