Glen Oaks receives Special Project Award

Glen Oaks Community College is a recent recipient of the Special Project Award for its agricultural equipment technology program.

Presented by Michigan Association of Continuing Education and Training, the award recognizes an outstanding educational service project that advances continuing development of the profession. Reid Leaverton, instructor for the ag equipment tech program, accepted the award Oct. 24 at the TRENDS Conference in Grand Rapids.

The program, unique to any community college in Michigan, began in 2017. Many area farm-equipment dealers and agriculture-related businesses offered support, both in funding and through in-kind donations.
