Investigation continues in theft cases

Sheriff’s deputies are appealing to the public for help locating the person responsible for a series of larceny-from-vehicle incidents in Constantine Township.

According to a department media release, there have been six incidents in the Purgatory State Game Area since Oct. 1.

Witnesses report a heavyset, bearded male who stands about six feet tall and weighs approximately 250 pounds might be a suspect in the situations. It is believed he drives a silver, four-door car that appears to be an older model.

In an unrelated incident, deputies responded shortly after 11:30 a.m. last Friday to the 68000 block of Blanchard Street in White Pigeon Township to a breaking-and-entering of a residence.

Details about whether anything was taken were not stated in a department media release.
