Constantine plans Christmas celebration

The village of Constantine is getting ready for its annual Christmas celebration.

Organizers of “Christmas in Constantine” are inviting the public to attend the decorating of its Christmas tree at Shelby Park. The decorating starts at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Aided by members of the Constantine High School choir, the tree-lighting ceremony will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Also Friday, the village is hosting a “Light Up the Night” parade. It starts at 7 o’clock.

On Saturday, downtown businesses will be open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A Christmas retailer scavenger hunt winner will be announced at 3:15 p.m. at the Party Coop.

Santa will also be at the Party Coop Saturday, and at the American Legion 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Visitors to Santa are asked to consider bringing a canned good.
