Richard Chrisman, 88

Richard Chrisman, age 88, of Constantine, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2020 at his home. He was born on October 10, 1931, in Constantine, a son of Leslie and Delia (Harvey) Chrisman. Richard graduated from Constantine High School with the class of 1949 after leaving school in the 11th grade to serve in the United States Navy. On June 28, 1952, he married Florence Solomon in Fall River, MA. She preceded him in death on August 6, 2006.

Richard retired from White Pigeon Paper Mill in 1995 after 42 years of employment.
He was a member of Constantine Messiah Lutheran Church. Richard enjoyed gardening, stone and wood working, animals, farming, and lapidary.

Richard is survived by his daughter Theresa Chrisman of Constantine, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, siblings Shirley Chrisman, Agnes Blough, Mary Chrisman in infancy, Pauline Hershberger, Harry Chrisman, Orley Chrisman, and Wanda VanDerMoere, nephew Allen Chrisman, and niece Jocelynn Blough.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, private family services will be held. Interment will occur in Constantine Township Cemetery. A public memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be given in Richard’s honor to Constantine Messiah Lutheran Church or to St. Joseph County Animal Rescue Fund.
