Art Dykstra, 90

Arthur “Art” John Dykstra, age 90, of Three Rivers, went to be with his Lord peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Safe Haven Assisted Living. He was born on April 4, 1930 in Sioux Center, Iowa the son of the late John M. and Anna (Wyma) Dykstra.
Arthur served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force. On June 5, 1953 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Mrs. Nelva (Kraai) Dykstra. Art and Nelva were faithful members of the Three Rivers Christian Reformed Church and later Bethany Chapel where they made many lasting friendships. Art was the founding father of the Three Rivers Youth Bowling League. He was past President of the Three Rivers Jaycees and the United Way. Art worked as a sales representative and later in customer service for the Michigan Gas Company (Semco Energy) before his retirement.
Mr. Dykstra was preceded in death by his wife, Nelva, his parents, one brother, Martin, and three sisters, Kathrine, Annetta, and Jeanette.
Art leaves to cherish his loving memory, four sons, Terrill (Joan), Dennis (Jeanie), Arlen (Joyce), and David (Diane) Dykstra, as well as one brother, Chuck (June) Dykstra; ten beloved grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

Private family services will be held at this time and a celebration of Mr. Dykstra’s life will take place at a later date.
Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery.

Memorials in Art’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Bethany Chapel. Envelopes are available and may be sent to Hohner Funeral Home in care of his arrangements.
