COA planning a return to normal service

St. Joseph County Commission on Aging is looking toward returning to normal service by the end of June or early July, executive director Tim Stoll told COA board members Wednesday at their meeting.

In addition, the agency is hoping to return to five-day-a-week delivery by mid-June, Stoll added. Daily, weekday service will be done regardless of whether the governor’s executive order is lifted and allows drivers to interact with seniors each day.

Regarding in-home services, Stoll said the COA hopes to restart that amenity in mid to late June.

Also, COA would like to reopen its senior center in Sturgis and Rivers Enrichment Center in Three Rivers on or before July 1. Anticipated safety precautions include screening when people enter the building, having them wear masks, limiting the number of participants in activities and limiting groups.
