Three Rivers man arrested in UP

A Three Rivers man was arrested after authorities in the Upper Peninsula found him in possession of drugs.

According to state police, the man was arrested Wednesday by members of the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team. He was allegedly in possession of several pounds of methamphetamine, according to authorities.

The Southwest Enforcement Team was advised of the situation and, as a result, executed a search warrant in the 400 block of 4th Avenue in Three Rivers.

Investigators said they discovered cocaine and amphetamines inside the residence.

Detectives said four adults and two children, ages 1 and 3 years, were in the house.

According to WWMT, authorities indicated the two children were sleeping in the basement in an area several feet from meth pipes. They were turned over to the care of Child Protective Services.

The four adults were arrested, though charges are pending, according to authorities. Officials did not indicate whether the Three Rivers man was being held in the Upper Peninsula or if he was returned to St. Joseph County.
