Fabius Township crash injures two people

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision over the weekend in Fabius Township.

Sheriff Mark Lillywhite said deputies were called around 8 a.m. Sunday to the intersection of U.S. 131 and Broadway Street.

Investigators said a northbound minivan attempted to turn left onto Broadway despite signs indicating left turns are prohibited at the intersection. The vehicle was driven by an 80-year-old woman from Middlebury.

The vehicle turned in front of a southbound SUV driven by a 50-year-old man from Battle Creek. The turning vehicle was struck by the SUV in its passenger’s side.

A male passenger in the minivan was treated at the scene for minor injuries. A female passenger in the SUV was transported to Three Rivers Health for non-life threatening injuries.
