White Pigeon Junior/Senior High closed due to COVID-19

White Pigeon Junior/ Senior High School closed Wednesday and is scheduled to remain shut through next week.

District officials said two additional people in the building tested positive for COVID-19. Both were last in the building Oct. 5.

After conferring with the local health agency, superintendent Jon Keyer (rhymes with “higher”) and associate superintendent Carrie Erlandson said the decision was made to move the high school to virtual learning during that time frame.

Central Elementary School has not been affected by the decision to temporarily close the junior/senior high school building. Athletic events for the district’s middle and high school students, however, have been canceled through Monday.

White Pigeon High School’s varsity football team was to play at White Cloud tonight, but the game has been canceled.
