Inspectors: Tough conditions for workers at state hospital

Inspectors are recommending a buddy system, more training and protective sleeves after finding “workplace violence” among employees who deal with patients at a state psychiatric hospital in Kalamazoo. The Kalamazoo Gazette says Michigan workplace inspectors learned that workers have suffered bites, fractures and concussions. Registration streamlined at Three Rivers Health

Three Rivers Health has introduced a new kiosk to improve the registration process for patients arriving for unscheduled outpatient testing. Hospital officials said the kiosk is a patient-queue system. When patients enter the hospital for outpatient testing, they can check into the kiosks then wait for their telephone’s last four digits to appear on two television screens in the lobby. …

Three Rivers Health Board prepares next year’s budget

At its October meeting, Three Rivers Health Board of Trustees reported preparation of the 2016 operating and capital budgets have begun. Also, the finalized 2016 operating plan was presented for review in the format of the Studer Groups Leadership Evaluation Manager. Sturgis patient being treated for TB

An active case of tuberculosis is under investigation and treatment in the Sturgis area, according to Kim Wilhelm, prevention services director for Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency. Inpatient rehab open house

Three Rivers Health is staging an open house 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at its in-patient rehabilitation pavilion. Located at 701 S. Health Parkway, the facility during its open house will include a number of vendor booths such as Three Rivers Health Stroke Support Group, Speech Support Group, Center for Wound Healing and Outpatient Physical Therapies.
