The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency has reported that a second jurisdictional death associated with this year’s flu has occurred. The victim was a St. Joseph County man who tested positive for Influenza A/H1N1, which is the predominant influenza strain making the rounds this year, according to the health department. Three males and two females were arrested Monday as a result of a special sweep conducted by local law-enforcement agencies. Roof collapses in Sturgis

One person was injured Thursday after a roof collapsed at Omni Source Corporation, at 2160 S. Centerville Road, in Sturgis. Sturgis fire crews responded at the scene and found a 100-by-200-foot section of the main building had collapsed. Two employees were in the building at the time, and both escaped. A 33-year-old Constantine man suffered injuries as the result of a firearm malfunction last week.
