The first of St. Joseph County’s nine school districts returned to school Tuesday, while four others will begin classes Monday. Glen Oaks Community College has announced a new associate and certificate program in Agricultural Equipment Technology that will launch this fall. Glen Oaks names math scholarship recipient

Jeremy Gooch has been awarded the Professor Emeritus B. Swartz Scholarship for Excellence in Mathematics. The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a Glen Oaks student with an outstanding record in mathematics courses. Gooch was recommended for the scholarship by Glen Oaks mathematics instructors. Glen Oaks holds commencement ceremony

Glen Oaks Community College staged its 49th commencement ceremony Friday. In all, 112 of the college’s 152 graduates took part in Friday’s ceremony. College officials said the youngest graduate was 18, the oldest 58 and average age of graduates was 24 1/2. Glen Oaks Community College has announced the promotion of Morgan Balcom to head women’s basketball coach. Balcom takes the reins after Michael Mosley stepped down from the position in early February.
